One Word Film Project

This is our first filming project, the teacher put us in pairs to brainstorm a 1:00-1:30 film, based on one word with no sounds. The goal was to tell the story using one word, ours was Frustrated, and create a film without sound. The challenge was on how to demonstrate our word on screen with no sounds.

When we began brainstorming, we started thinking about situations where we found ourselves frustrated, and I thought about the frustration of not getting tickets to a concert, especially since nowadays it has become harder to get them when resellers and scams exist. Then we decided that was our topic, and we started seeing how we could create a story and what shots and techniques to use.

After receiving feedback from our teacher, we completed brainstorming the order of the story and shots, and then created a storyboard to plan our shooting locations and visualize whether we were using the right shots for each scene. The following day, we completed all the filming, and then we began editing using Premiere Pro. We used fade-in and fade-out transitions to show that time passed, emphasizing the frustration of waiting for tickets and not having any.

I think we could have improved on the quality of the shots and camera; some of them might have been a little unbalanced since we didn't use the tripod much. Also, I think some of our choices of shots could have been better to make them seem more natural.
